Life-Saving Alternative Investment Programme to Cardinal Healthcare

THIS SITE IS PRESENTLY BEING UPDATED... IN THE MEANTIME...Longford County Councillors are calling for a meeting with Tanaiste Mary Harney over the loss of Cardinal Healthcare. A spokesperson for The HAPPYACRES HEALTHCARE Project - namely the Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre - has made it very clear to - not only the appropriate councillors , Longford County Council and governments departments and least of all Mary Harney's department - that "there is little point in whinging and whining " about what has happened with Cardinal Healthcare. Our CEO predicted [nationally] that this would happen a long time ago, long before the public knew about it. Our CEO also predicted the disbanding of the Health boards by 2006. Look what has happened." An Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre Spokesperson has just made us aware of an extra-special meeting that has taken place with the entire Board of Directors of Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre and the President of The HappyAcres HealthCare Project recently at Ballymahon, County Longford. It was agreed that the following should be highlighted for you:

Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre presents a DEFINITE investment replacement opportunity ... Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre has brought to Longford the entire €252 Million HealthCare Project that invites 'partnership'.... the HappyAcres HealthCare Project employment worth (namely Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre) and the financial contributions to The Longford County Council far outweighs that of what had been presented and suggested by Cardinal Health Care.

Town Mayor Alan Mitchell praised the work carried out by County Manager Michael Killeen and his colleagues in relation to Cardinal. While Michael Killeen says that "politicians have .... no influence [that's right]... when companies make decisions[true]. We[Longford County Council] like to claim credit...[of course] ... "

A Spokesperson for The HappyAcres HealthCare Project has confirmed to Mr. Killeen's office that a DECISION HAS BEEN MADE BY THE COMPANY - Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre - that they [Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre] WILL STAY in LONGFORD. It is hoped that the Longford County Council would show as much enthusiasm and support for Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre as they did for Cardinal Health Care.

Integration and Co-operation is what is expected and needed now by all in Longford - especially the Longford County Council and the Longford County Councillors who are calling for that replacement investment.

A spokesperson for the President of The HappyAcres HealthCare Project makes it very clear to us all : " It is what we DO that counts. The talking is over. We must walk the talk and put a stop to all this political fog-horning, point scoring and inter-political corruption (anybody see Prime Time on RTE 1 television Thursday February 26th 2004?)."

Board Of Directors Being Sworn In To Oversee Construction Of Medicentre

THIS SITE IS PRESENTLY BEING UPDATED. IN THE MEANTIME...It has just been confirmed that a special Board of Directors are being sworn in to Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre to oversee the management of funds and administrative procedures relative to (a) the buy-out of the lands (b) the construction of 41 luxury Coach house Apartments (c) the construction of Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre (d) the planning and subsequent construction of The Saint Francis WellBeing Centre alongside (e) the construction of a number of Independent-Living WellBeing Units.

Negotiations are to take place between potential construction companies, the Board of Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre and the president of The HappyAcres HealthCare Project to decide on a commencement date and agree upon a construction company. Longford County Council should be putting their energies into this - after all - the entire project IS an integral part of The Regional Development Plan for LONGFORD

Happy On Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

THIS SITE IS PRESENTLY BEING UPDATED. IN THE MEANTIME...Not the game show on television but on the subject of being a millionaire ... which he is not... Happy has recently been offered €4.5 Million to negotiate a buy out of both The Old Works House Site in Ballymahon and Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre Planning Permission for an interested consortium but - typically - Happy turned down the offer. Happy explained at a board meeting recently :

" While this would have meant that I would have become a millionaire overnight and without having to appear on television for it!!! it would have been an absolute act of betrayal of 'the message' and what happened to me.[May 2000 see The N.E.E.M.S Dream]. It would also have deemed my life a mockery of the vision and I would have let myself, everything I stand for and everyone down. SO you see folks ... if Happy was in 'this' for the money.... I guess he simply would not be here."

Planning Permission

THIS SITE IS PRESENTLY BEING UPDATED.IN THE MEANTIME...Planning Permission has been GRANTED to Our Lady or Guadalupe MediCentre. Presently we are about to enter into the closing stages of buying out the land which is the main priority at the moment. It is expected that construction shall commence this Summer. Completion date is still as scheduled - 2006. Also, there is Planning Permission GRANTED for 41 Luxury Coach House Apartments as part of the Planning Application.

INNY VIEW HOMES have agreed to build and donate all the profit on these apartments - which has an Alladins cave of tax-breaks attached to them - to our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre. We confirm that out of this donation we will be buying back the land and thus "God's Other Project" - Happy Murray shall have an asset base in excess of €4 Million to start with and the project will be - and shall remain - Debt Free.

BUT FIRST....Back to the present

This is being handled by the professionals. In the Meantime...

THIS SITE IS PRESENTLY BEING UPDATED. IN THE MEANTIME...SANCTA ANNA (Saint Ann) is the name of the building that will become home to the N.E.E.M.S Mobile Trauma Unit - The Saint Luke. The N.E.E.M.S Mobile Trauma Unit Control Centre in Ballymahon, County Longford shall be ready for "GO" shortly.

Next door to the N.E.E.M.S Mobile Trauma Unit Control Centre are the offices of INNY VIEW HOMES which expects to open soon.

All this progress has been brough about by the GENEROSITY of the people "simpy because they see it [the project happening]..want it...of course..and can now have it". - Happy Murray. But it must not stop at that. We need to keep donations coming in.

Book Release Date Soon Due

THIS SITE IS PRESENTLY BEING UPDATED... IN THE MEANTIME Happy Murray's book The N.E.E.M. S Dream... Becoming Reality is now out of print. The second part of the N.E.E.M. S Dream Trilogy - DREAM ON has been put back to make way for the publication of Victims of an Attitude. As you may recall, Victims of An Attitude was not to be published until after DREAM ON came out... all three being the subject matter of one major movie.

Victims of an Attitude is the warts-and-all biography - written in consultation with Donall "Happy" Murray , members of his family and friends. It covers Happy's life from the 1970's to the present day. There are certain aspects of Victims of an Attitude that concern issues of a miscarriage of justice for example and lawyers for his "compensators" want a "silence clause" or "confidentiality clause" signed prior to compensation as it could cause a national outcry - and much State embarrassment - should the said miscarriage of justice be made public. However, all energies are presently being channelled into The HappyAcres HealthCare Project and Happy now says that while he is ready to publish we would rather not - for the moment only - unless he deems it necessary. Watch this space folks!

MOO

IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET that we report the death of Happy's mother Ann "MOO" Murray. A staunch supporter of the project and a major benefactor of the cause - MOO died after a long illness - a cross which she bravely carried a long distance - although she was pro-active up to January 5th 2004 when she died. Ironically, Happy learned that she had taken ill in Spain on FRIDAY December 12th 2003 - The Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe , the day we received the Decision to Grant Planning Permission to Our Lady of Guadalupe MediCentre. ALSO, we are saddened by the death of our DreamTeam Member, friend and resident mechanic "BAZ" who had been with us from the start.[no pun intended!]. He was a good man, great fun,much loved and now greatly missed.May he rest in peace.
